Grief Support Service
We are running a support service for patients registered with a Cardiff North GP practice who have been recently bereaved. The service provides 5 sessions of telephone based emotional support. We understand that grief is very difficult, and emotions change day to day. During the initial days and weeks after losing a loved one, just having someone to talk to, understand and empathise can be immensely helpful. Our trained support workers provide a safe space to listen and help you process your grief.
If you would like to work alongside us to spread awareness and knowledge to your community on grief and bereavement from your faith or cultural perspective. Please get in touch via info@ccaws.org.uk.
Bereavement Support & Counselling
Bereavement is an especially challenging time for our mental health and wellbeing. The death/ loss of a loved one can leave a feeling of emptiness, and a whole range of heightened emotions. Often how we feel after a bereavement is described as Grief.
Grief is a natural response after a bereavement. It can leave us in a state of distress whilst we try to process and accept the loss. Grief can affect us emotionally and physically, can change our behaviour and make us question our beliefs and purpose. It can feel isolating and leave us unsure of who to turn to for support. At CCAWS we have trained counsellors and support workers who provide specialist support during these difficult times.
Bereavement Counselling Service
We provide a Grief and Bereavement Counselling Service for people from Black, Asian, and Ethnic Minority communities.
Bereavement Counselling is a talking therapy that can help you process your loss and emotions in a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space.

Co-production in Bereavement Support & Community Engagement
The bereavement support project aims to enable communities to cope better with grief and bereavement by spreading awareness and knowledge through community workshops.
We have already begun partnering up with a diverse range of Faith groups and Black, Asian, and Ethnic Minority communities in Cardiff. Together we are co producing and delivering workshops on Grief and Bereavement from both a mental health and faith/cultural perspective. We hope that this will empower communities to better support each other.
