Volunteer with a Pure Heart

Volunteers play a vital role here at CCAWS.

They support us to deliver our projects and help us run our office day to day. We are always on the lookout for enthusiastic and reliable individuals from all communities and ages. Training and support will be provided.

Why volunteer with us?

We have a number of opportunities ...

Volunteer Advocate

Volunteer advocates can volunteer at the CCAWS office or remotely. We would be looking for volunteers who could give at least an hour a week of their time. The role of the volunteer advocate is to support clients by researching into their issues and discussing the available options to them. This can be done trough telephone or face to face appointments.

Befriender

If you are interested in becoming a befriender, we expect volunteers to be able to give at least one hour a week, for a least 6 months and be able to befriend clients over the telephone/Zoom or in person in the community, for example, meeting for a coffee. The volunteer befriender provides support to an individual who is isolated, by listening to them and encouraging them.

Counselling Placements

If you are currently undertaking BACP accredited training to become a professional counsellor, you could complete part of your supervised placement hours with CCAWS.

Volunteer Interpreters

We are always on the look-out for people who can support our clients whose English is not their first language. This could be to support advocacy or counselling sessions, or by being a befriender.

Administrative & Social Media

You could help design posters and help with our social media content as well as answering telephone calls and writing letters.

Want to volunteer?

There are a variety of benefits for volunteering with CCAWS, such developing and improving your administrative and interpersonal skills, as well as having the satisfaction of supporting your community. We can also pay travel expenses. We also offer Tempo Credits to our volunteers, which you can use towards gym sessions or trips to the theatre.
